Slope Plane Flying Sites

You are welcome to fly at these sites if you have a PASS and an AMA membership. Both are required for insurance purposes. Please respect these flying sites. Permission to use them from the owners and government agencies has taken years to establish.

Bald Butte

Bald Butte is South of Hood River in the Mount Hood National Forest. It is accessible 7 days a week. A short hike in, rewards you with a beautiful view of Mount Hood and a great place to relax.

Mount Hebo

Mount Hebo is East of Hebo, Oregon. It is accessible 7 days a week. This is our backup site for days when there is too much rain in the Gorge and Willamette Valley.

Lumber

The Lumber site is located on private timber land South of Hood River. It is accessible 7 days a week with the exception of hunting season and is regularly used by the Hood River R/C Club.

Ecola State Park

Ecola State Park is near Cannon Beach. It is accessible 7 days a week and provides a beautiful view of Haystack Rock. Flying is best on low-wind days.

Klickitat

The Klickitat site is located near Klickitat, Washington. It has a beautiful view, but several hazards so is best suited to to flying "foamies."

McKinley Ridge

McKinley Ridge is located East of Battle Ground, Washington. It can be flown from one side in the morning and the other side in the afternoon. Winds are very consistent, huge lift, and beautiful views make this a great place to fly.

Cascade Head

Cascade Head is located North of Lincoln City. It is accessible 7 days a week. The lift and the views are amazing. Fly with bald eagles and see the whale migrate.

Chehalem Mountain

Chehalem Mountain is located North of Newberg. It has lots of wind in the winter and trees limit the ability to make close passes. Not a great hill, but close to home.
